Roy Schroeder In China
Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Schroeder received word from their son Roy somewhere in China. He writes as follows: "I am in the hospital again today, so thought I better write a few letters. I got a bad cold, and sore throat and bad tonsils.
I don't think they will do much about it but let me rest up for a few days and I'll probably go back to work again.
I got plenty of books to read. I also got the Monitor the other day, and enjoyed it very much.
I wish you would thank the Monitor and Legion for sending the paper. Roy A. Schroeder

Roy Schroeder Back in U. S. Brentwood, N. Y. Dear Folks:
I arrived here a few days ago, had a nice trip across the ocean, am feeling fine and hope you are the same. I hope to get home on furlough, but don't know just when I'll get out of here. I received all of your mail and enjoyed. Don't know much to write, nothing much going on here.
As ever, Roy.
(Roy had been sent back from overseas for hospitalization).
