Winifred Pearl Billick Schaefer
Funeral services for Mrs. Winifred Pearl Schaefer of Carroll will be Thursday, January 11 at 10:30 a.m. at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll.

Mrs. Schaefer, 87, died January 8, 1990, at St. Anthony Regional Hospital following a long illness. She was a retired registered nurse and worked at St. Anthony Regional Hospital for 22 years. The Rev. Raymond Meester of the First Presbyterian Church will officiate. Organist will be Mrs. Don Severin, and soloist will be Marvin Toft.

Burial will be in the Carroll City Cemetery. The St. Anthony Alumni Nurses Association will form an honor guard at the cemetery. Visitation begins at 4:30 p.m. today, Wednesday, at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home. A prayer service will be held later today at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Casket bearers will be Mike Schaefer, Mark O'Brien, Mike O'Brien, Kenny King, Oscar Ward, and Tom Denadel.

Mrs. Schaefer was born Winifred Pearl Billick September 10, 1902, at Manning, a daughter of Arthur and Edna Mae (Greenlee) Billick. She attended Gray High School and was a graduate of St. Anthony School of Nursing in 1926. She moved to Carroll in 1923. On May 16, 1928, she married William C. Schaefer at Carroll. She worked at St. Anthony Regional Hospital from 1950 to 1972.

Survivors include two daughters: Dona King of Bartlesville, Arkansas; and Linda A O'Brien and her husband, Bill, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two sons: William A. and his wife, Carlene, of Carroll; and Ralph H. Schaefer of Council Bluffs; 11 grandchildren: five great-grandchildren; a sister, Edna Mae (Mrs. George) Vaux of Bagley.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, and two brothers, Hugh and Glenn.
