William Sibbel
William Anthony Sibbel, 76, of Manning died Thursday morning, February 14, 1974, at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll, where he had been a patient for three weeks.

Requiem mass will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Sacred Heart Church here by the Rev. Norbert Weber, M.S.C. Pallbearers will be Norbert, Wayne, Gene, Vernon and David Rohe and Joe Irlmeier. Burial will be in the Manning Cemetery. Friday night there will be a rosary at 7:30 and scripture service at 8 p.m., both led by Fr. Weber, at the Ohde Funeral Home in Manning.

Mr. Sibbel was born March 5, 1897, near Templeton, a son of August and Bernadette (Riesberg) Sibbel. He attended Sacred Heart School, Templeton. On December 30, 1924, he married Elsie Clare Hansen and they farmed near Templeton until moving to Manning in 1940. Mrs. Sibbel died in 1964 and he entered the Manning Plaza nursing home a year ago.

Besides his wife, he was preceded by an infant son, Kenneth Sibbel, another son, Bill, in 1968, and a sister.

Surviving are his daughter-in-law, Mrs. Patricia Sibbel of Manning; three granddaughters, Mrs. Robert L. (Connie) Snyder of Carroll, Diane, student at Ankeny, and Peggy, at home; and two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Rohe and Mrs. Alvina Kasperbauer, both of Templeton.
