Will Nettle Gone.
At the home of his mother, Mrs. E. Smith, William Nettle breathed his last on Saturday night shortly after 11 o'clock. His sickness dates back four years, though he had been able to do light work until last fall. The most tender care was given him and every whim was gratified, but that dread disease, consumption had a strong hold on him and he was released from suffering only in the final sleep. The deceased was born near Marshalltown August 4, 1863, and consequently was 27 years, 10 months and 2 days old. In 1878 with his parents he moved to Carroll County, a few miles north of where Manning now stands, and after the town was platted the family moved to Manning and here the deceased had made his home. The funeral was held from the home on Monday forenoon, the services being conducted by Rev. I.M. O'Flyng and the remains were followed to their last resting place in Manning Cemetery by many saddened hearts. The family has the deepest sympathy of the entire people in this locality in their great affliction.

Note: there are NO records from either the official Manning city records or the Iowa Genealogical Society tombstone records of William Nettle buried in the Manning Cemetery - so he must be one of the burials not recorded.
