The Rev. Mr. Motter grew up in Manning and graduated from high school here in 1904. He went to college and to Princeton Seminary. He served in two churches in Cincinnati, Ohio, and the Kenmore Presbyterian Church, Kenmore, New York, for almost 25 years. Retiring from the Kenmore Church in 1953, he went to California, where he served as visitation minister in the Grandview Presbyterian Church in Glendale. He had lived in Pilgrim Place since 1962.
He is survived by a brother and two sisters.
He is buried at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Hollywood Hills, California.
He was born October 11, 1885, to Rudolph and Minnie (Porst) Motter, both buried in the Manning Cemetery.
