WILLIAM C. WITT
William Carl Witt, Sr., 92, of Audubon died here Monday, January 24, 1987, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Lynn Ullerich, after being in failing health for several years.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in Trinity Lutheran Church in Lincoln Township, Audubon County, of which Mr. Witt was a member. The Rev. Alfred Allmann will officiate. Burial will be in Manning Cemetery, with grandsons as pallbearers. Arrangements are in charge of the Ohde Funeral Home at Manning, where friends may call after 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Mr. Witt was a son of Chris and Sophia (Holtz) Witt. He was born in Jackson County January 15, 1880, and as a child moved to a farm near Gray, where he attended school. In 1908, he was married to Mary Holtz and they farmed on the same farm near Gray until her death, January 25, 1956. Mr. Witt then made his home with a sister and his children; he had lived at the Ullerich home for the last eight years.

Surviving besides his daughter, Mrs. Linn (Selma) Ullerich, are a son, Woodrow, of Manning; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers.
