Funeral services for Wilhelmina Anna Miller, "Minnie", were held Thursday, December 19, 1991 at 10:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Manning, Iowa. Pastor Robert Riggert officiated the service with Fern Jensen as organist. Interment was in Arlington Heights Cemetery, Audubon, Iowa with Roger Dreier, Scott Dreier, Dallas Lile, Gary Hansen, Darwin Lile, and Dean Miller as casketbearers.
Minnie, daughter of August and Eda (Niemann) Dreier, was born June 17, 1904, in Audubon Township, Audubon County, Iowa. She attended the rural school near her home.
As a young women, Minnie did housekeeping for others and for her family. She was also employed at the Audubon County Hospital.
On April 14, 1957, Minnie was united in marriage with Norman "Bill" Miller at St. John's Lutheran Church in Audubon, they made their home in Newton, Iowa. In the early 1960s Minnie and her husband moved to Manning. Minnie was employed at the Manning General Hospital for many years. Her husband, Bill, died in 1970.
Minnie had been in failing health since May. She was hospitalized in Omaha and on October 11 moved to the Carroll Manor Nursing Home in Carroll, Iowa, where she died Monday afternoon, December 16, 1991, at the age of 87 years, 5 months, and 29 days.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; by two brothers, William E. Dreier and Walter H. Dreier; and by two sisters, Anna Lile and Martha Miller.
Survivors include two brothers: Elmer Dreier and his wife, Allene, of Hamlin; and Harry Dreier and his wife, Alberta, of Audubon; a sister, Clara F. Jacobsen, of Audubon; a sister-in-law, Alice Dreier, of Audubon; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Minnie was a lifelong baptized and confirmed member of the Lutheran church, first in the Audubon area and finally at Zion Lutheran Church in Manning. She was a member of the Lutheran ladies organization.
