In 1867, he was united in marriage to Lisette Keller. To this union two sons were born, Herman and Emil. Later his wife took sick and died. Several years later he was united in marriage to Marie Timm. Two sons were born to this union, Robert and Willie. Willie died in infancy.
In 1882, Mr. and Mrs. Sinow and three sons came to the United States, settling in Clinton County. In 1889, they moved to Crawford County, settling on a farm between Manning and Manilla. In 1907, death called Mrs. Sinow to the other world and since that time the bereaved husband lived with his son.
The funeral was held from Robert Sinow's home Saturday forenoon, Rev. Wendt, of Manilla, conducting the services. Kind hands then took the body to the Manilla Cemetery where it was laid beside the body of his wife, who died in 1907.
The funeral was largely attended, the many friends showing their deep regard for their departed neighbor and friend by their attendance.
Besides the three sons in America left to mourn the death of their father he also leaves seven grandchildren, and many friends. Two brothers still survive him in Germany. He has three sisters and two brothers buried in Germany.
Wilhelm Sinow had a whole circle of friends that he had made by his neighborly kindness and friendship. He was honest, saving, and prosperous. He will be missed by all for he was that type of man that this world likes to keep. He lived a good life and leaves this world with a good word from all.
