Walter E. Wiese, 69, Died in Des Moines

Walter Edward Wiese, 69, formerly of Westside and a resident of Des Moines four years, passed away Sunday afternoon January 24, 1954, at the Avenue Nursing home there following an illness of four months.

Funeral services were held Tuesday evening at 7:30 from Hamilton's Funeral Home, Des Moines, and from St. John's Evangelical and Reformed Church at Westside on Wednesday afternoon. Burial was in Hayes Township Cemetery.

Mr. Wiese was born at Westside and for many years farmed in that community. He retired in 1949 and moved to Des Moines.

Survivors include his wife, Anna, two daughters, Mrs. James Arduser of Des Moines and Lorraine Wiese of Chicago; three sons, Kenneth of Westside, Forrest of Arcadia and Warren of Manilla. There are also eight grandchildren, four sisters and three brothers, namely: Mrs. Emma Duncan of Perry, Mrs. Dora Kruse of Westside, Mrs. Henry Passick of Des Moines, Mrs. Henry Peters of Arcadia; William Wiese of Perry, Harry Wiese of Des Moines, and Arthur Wiese of Adel.
