Walter W. Polzien, 85, of Wall Lake, died Thursday, Dec. 31, 1992, at Twilight Acres Nursing Home in Wall Lake.

Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 4, 1993, at Peace Lutheran Church in Well Lake with Pastor Roger Carlisle officiating. Burial was at Wall Lake Cemetery in Wall Lake.

Music was provided by congregational singing and soloist Leland Wentzel accompanied by organist Roland Erickson. Mrs. Roger Schmidt, Mrs. Jack Stickrod and Mrs. Marvin Dreessen were in charge of floral arrangements.

Casket bearers were Henry Dierenfeld, Ron Bloom, Lyle Sundt, Bill Polzien, Mark Schroeder and Roger Schramm.
Arrangements were by Farber and Otteman Funeral Horne in Wall Lake.

Born Jan. 13, 1907, in Sac County, Iowa, Mr. Polzien was a son of Henry C. and Bertha (Schmidt) Polzien. He was baptized and confirmed at Peace Lutheran Church in Wall Lake.

On Oct. 2, 1934, he married Pearl Schramm at Cook Township in Sac County. She died on Feb. 5, 1940. On June 19, 1951, he married Flora M. Friedrichsen at Wall Lake. She died Jan. 5, 1989.

Mr. Polzien lived and farmed west of Wall Lake until he retired in 1979.
He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church.

Mr. Polzien is survived by his daughter, Donna. (Mrs. Frank) Scribner, of Batavia, IL; two sons, Glen and his wife, Bev, of Wall Lake and Dr. Duane and his wife, JoEllen, of Lincoln, Neb.; seven grandchildren; three great-grand; children: and two sisters, Alma Guemmer of Albuquerque, NM. and Edna Bundt of Wall Lake.

He was preceded in death by wives, parents; brothers, Carl, in infancy, Herman, Martin and Henry; and sisters, Clara Dierenfeld, Anna and Emma.
