VIRTUS VOLLSTEDT
Funeral service for Virtus Vollstedt, 53, was
conducted Tuesday, August 18, 1966, at Zion Lutheran Church, Manning, with the Rev
Edward F. Heinicke in charge, with Dorothy Kusel as organist. Burial was in the Manning Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were Lyle and Dean Vollstedt, Melvin Borkowski, Paul Vollstedt, Gene Kuhl and Rollin Kuhl.
Mr. Vollstedt, who was born January 27, 1913, in Washington Township of Carroll County died early Saturday, August 13 at the Manning General Hospital, where he had been a patient since August 2. He had been in poor health for the last several years. He was the son of the late William C. and Cecelia Ann (Kuhl) Vollstedt, and attended, Carroll County schools. He was married February 14, 1936, to Kathryn Kuhl at the Zion Lutheran Church in Manning. He served his church as elder for six years. He farmed in the Manning area. A brother, Hugo, predeceased him.
Survivors include his wife; a son Dale; a daughter Mrs. Joe (Sylvia) Engel of Pipestone, Minnesota; brothers and sisters, Theodore of Manilla, William of Manning, Elsie of Yutan, Nebraska; Mrs. Mabel Borkowski of Ames and Ray of Manning, and four grandchildren.
