MRS. GEORGE ROSS

Mrs. George (Virginia Agnes) Ross, 63, died Saturday, November 28, at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 1, at First United Methodist Church in Audubon with the Revs. Warren McFate and Jacob Kuker, officiating. Burial will be in Cameron Center Cemetery. Serving as casketbearers will be Calvin Macumber, T.A. Railsback, Joseph Riesberg, James Soll, Edward J. Wiederstein, and Edward M. Wiederstein.

Mrs. Ross is survived by her husband George; daughter, Mrs. John (Deborah) Swensen; grandson, Nathan Swensen, all of Gray; brothers and sisters: Harold Nickum, Glenwood; Maxine Page, Pompano Beach, Florida; Lawrence Nickum, Omaha; Delores Joens, Manning; and Corrine Knudson, Council Bluffs; and her step-mother Rose Nickum-Detluffsen, Dunlap.

She was preceded in death by two sons, James and George Randall Ross, a daughter Rebecca Ross, her parents, two sisters, Isabelle Nickum, and Loretta Dau, and a brother Donald Nickum.

She was born May 25, 1918, at Dedham, a daughter of Henry and Bertha (Seidl) Nickum. She grew up in Manning and attended school there. She was baptized and confirmed in Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Manning.

On April 27, 1937, she was married to George E. Ross. They farmed north of Audubon all their married life. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Audubon and worked as a nurse's aide at the Audubon County Memorial Hospital for several years.
