Victor Frederick Richard Spack, 48, Manning tavern operator, died after a long illness early Wednesday morning, August 4, 1965, at Manning General Hospital, where he had been a patient for two days.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in Zion Lutheran Church here, with Pastor Edward Heinicke officiating. Burial will be in the Manning Cemetery, with nephews as pallbearers. Friends may call at the Ohde Funeral Home here after 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Mr. Spack, son of Michael and Emily Dieber Spack, was born December 12, 1916, at Buck Grove. He attended rural schools. On June 21, 1936, he was married to Arlene Ruhde at Maryville, Missouri. They farmed in Crawford County for 20 years and have operated a tavern in Manning for 4 1/2 years. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife; three children, Kenneth Michael of Omaha; Linda Lou and Mark Allen, at home; his mother, who lives at Aspinwall; two brothers, Elmer, of Boyer and Clifford, Aspinwall; and one sister, Mrs. Ed (Esther) Jochimsen, Charter Oak.

Mr. Spack was preceded in death by his father and one infant daughter.
