Veronica Timmerman

Mrs. Fred Timmerman, 67, of Manning died Tuesday night, May 28, 1968, at Manning General Hospital after a long illness. Requiem mass will be read at 10 a.m. Friday in Sacred Heart Church here by the Rev. Norbert Weber. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery at Carroll. Friends may call after 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Ohde Funeral Home in Manning, where the rosary will be recited both Wednesday and Thursday at 8 p.m.

Mrs. Timmerman was the former Veronica Ellen O'Brien. She was born at Scranton June 13, 1900, a daughter of John and Mary Horan O'Brien. As a young girl she moved with her parents to Carroll, where she received her education at St. Joseph School and St. Angela Academy. She worked in Council Bluffs for two years and in 1919 married Dan Mackey. They had a daughter, Dorothy, now Mrs. Harlan Evans of West Des Moines. Mr. Mackey died in 1922 and she continued to reside in Carroll. In 1941 she married Mr. Timmerman and they lived in Carroll for five years before moving to Manning.

They were the parents of a son, Ronald, now living in Omaha. Mrs. Timmerman was a member of Sacred Heart Church, the Rosary and Altar Society and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas.

Surviving with her husband, daughter, and son are four sisters: Mrs. Frances Peterson, Berkeley, California; Mrs. Margaret Graham, Beverly Hills, California; Mrs. Bea Reynolds, Bellingham, Washington; and Mrs. Rose Lippold, West Des Moines. One brother and one sister preceded her in death.
