He was born June 3, 1891, in Manning, Iowa, son of Thomas and Sidney (Peterson) Vincent and settled in the Esmond community. He and his brothers operated businesses in the Carthage area.

On June 10, 1914, he married Elma Sue Hunt in De Smet. They farmed near De Smet until 1944. They moved into town and Mr. Vincent worked as a carpenter until retiring at age 92. His wife died in July 1981.

Survivors include one son, Arnold, De Smet; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Services will begin at 10 a.m. Monday in the United Methodist Church, with burial in the De Smet Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in Osthus Funeral Home.
