VELMA CAROLINE PUCK
On September 24, 1931 Velma was united in marriage with William Puck at Omaha, Nebraska. They farmed southeast of Manning until 1950 when they moved into Manning to live with and care for her mother. After her mother's death in 1974, Velma and Bill continued to live in the family home, celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary in 1981.
Because of failing health Bill entered the Manning Plaza in 1985 and died there in 1988. Velma entered the Plaza in November of that year. Her health took a turn for the worse about a month before her death there on Saturday, April 1, 1995 at the age of 90 years, 6 months, and 29 days.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers: Walter, Herbert, and one in infancy.
Survivors include her nephew, John Koepke and his wife, Dorothy, of Corpus Christi, Texas; her niece, Paddy and her husband, Charles Pearson, of Rancho Cordova, California; several nieces and nephews on her husband's side of the family; two sisters-in-law: Maggie Puck of the Manning Plaza and Helen Puck, of Manning; other relatives and friends.
Velma was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
