Services for Tom Simpson, 87, Rapid City, will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church with the Rev. Alvin Glinsmann officiating. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery, Rapid City, South Dakota.
He died Wednesday (1992), at a local nursing home.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Behrens Mortuary, and at the church one hour before services. A memorial has been established to the American Cancer Society.
He was born February 6, 1905, at St. Lena, Nebraska, to Frank and Christina (Rieger) Simpson. He grew up in South Dakota.
He married Ella Elias October 13, 1928, at Rapid City. She died in May 1986.
He worked for Northwestern Engineering and M.A. Garland Construction for 32 years.
He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and Minneluzahan Senior Citizen Center.
Survivors include a brother, Tim Simpson of Rapid City; three sisters-in-law, Anne Paddick, Tressie Elias, and Edith Simpson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
