A Respected Citizen Dead.
Died, at his home in this city, Wednesday, January 27. Thomas Woodard, aged 79 years and 27 days. The deceased was born in Pennsylvania, December 12, 1818, and there spent his boyhood days. On may 6, 1840, he was happily married to Jane Nolen at LaGrange, Indiana. Ten children, five girls and five boys blessed this union, nine of whom are now living.

Mr. Woodard has resided in Iowa since 1883 and leaves a host of friends to mourn his departure. He was a respected gentleman, a good citizen and a kind father. For a number of years a member of the Methodist Church. For some time he had been suffering with blood poison.

Funeral services were held Thursday and today the remains were taken to Hartington, Nebraska, for burial, where is buried his wife.
