Thomas Smith, (born 1865) 83, died at his home in Excelsior Township, Dickinson County, Iowa, on Friday, April 16, 1948, where he has resided since 1915. The funeral services were held on Monday.

Interment was made in Silver Lake Cemetery alongside his wife, Elizabeth (Cope) Smith.
