Rites Held For Mrs. Ruge, 77, Former Resident
Mrs. Theresa Ruge, 77, former Carroll resident, who had lived with her sister, Mrs. Lena Johann, at Fort Morgan, Colorado, the last 25 years, died at the Fort Morgan hospital at 2:15 p.m. Sunday, March 6, 1949. Burial was held at New Liberty Cemetery, New Liberty, Iowa.

She had been in failing health a number of years.

Mrs. Ruge was the widow of Julius Ruge, who had served as Carroll County Clerk. The late E.J. Broderick was his deputy. Prior to his election as clerk, Mr. Ruge had been deputy for the late Fred Miller.

Mrs. Ruge was born March 26, 1871, at New Liberty, Scott County, Iowa. She lived in Manning for nine years with her husband, Julius.

Besides her sister, Mrs. Johann, Mrs. Ruge is survived by another sister, Mrs. Sophie Bargman, Madison, South Dakota; and two brothers, Henry Graffing, Elkton, South Dakota, and Charles, Davenport, Iowa.

Her husband died December 31, 1909. After his death, Mrs. Ruge moved with Dr. Cora Beach and family to Montana, living there a number of years before going to Fort Morgan. Dr. Beach, who notified Carroll friends of Mrs. Ruge's death, lives at Port Orchard, Washington.

Funeral services were held at Fort Morgan Wednesday afternoon. Burial will be in the family lot at New Liberty, Iowa.
