THEODORE H. RIX

Theodore H. Rix, 69, of Longmont, Colorado, former Manning resident, died Friday, January 21, 1972, at a Longmont Hospital where he was admitted January 17.

Rites will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Ohde Funeral Home in Manning; burial will be in the Manning Cemetery. The Rev. Don Griffin, pastor of the United Methodist Church, will officiate. Friends may call at Ohde Funeral Home after 4 p.m. Monday.

Mr. Rix, son of Peter and Minnie (Baak) Rix, was born here November 25, 1902. He graduated from Manning High School and attended the University of Iowa. He was married to Florence Schelldorf June 15, 1928, and they lived in Manning, where for several years he was in the clothing business with his brother-in-law. He then was associated with his father and brother in the publication of the Manning Monitor. Mr. and Mrs. Rix moved to Colorado in 1955 and to the present home at Longmont in 1958. He was a pressman for the University of Colorado.

He was a member of the Presbyterian Church and B.P.O.E. Lodge at Longmont, and a former member of Manuel Lodge A.F. and A.M., and the Manning Fire Department.

Mr. Rix is survived by his wife; a son Richard of Beaverton, Ore.; three granddaughters; his mother, Mrs. Minnie Rix of Manning; and two brothers, Harry and Arthur Rix, Manning. A brother, Alfred Rix, preceded him in death.
