TERRY LEE VOGE

Funeral rites for Terry Lee Voge, 17, of Manning, were held Wednesday, June 14, 1972, at 10:30 a.m. with Father Norbert Weber officiating. Burial was in the Manning Cemetery with Steve Carlyle, Steve Mohr, Doug Mohr, Gene Croghan, Kent Misselhorn, and Dean Martens as casketbearers.

The Rosary was prayed Tuesday at 7:30 with Bible Services at 8:30, and a 9:00 Rosary by the Catholic Daughters of America.

Son of Gerhardt and Billie (DeBoth) Voge, he was born June 3, 1955, at Audubon, Iowa. He was seriously injured in a traffic accident June 9th and taken to the Manning Hospital. From there he was transferred to Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs and died at 6:30 a.m. June 12th.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Voge.

He is survived by his parents, three brothers: James Switzer, Denison, Jerry, a twin brother, and William; a sister, Ann; and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Louis DeBoth of Carroll.


Condition of Voge "Poor"
Terry L. Voge, 17, son of Mr. And Mrs. G.T. Voge of Manning, is in poor condition at the Jennie Edmondson Hospital in Council Bluffs with injuries suffered in a traffic accident in Manning Friday morning.

Voge was reported to have received severe head, chest, and leg injuries when the motorcycle he was riding was in collision with a Manning Ready-Mix truck driven by Raymond Berndt, 62, of Manilla on Iowa 141 at the west edge of Manning.

The Manning youth was transferred to the Council Bluffs hospital around noon Friday from the Manning General Hospital.

Deputy Sheriff John D. Hays, who investigated the accident with Manning Police Chief Marvin D. Gaer and Iowa Highway Patrolman Marlo Feick of Manning, said the collision occurred as the truck was eastbound on 141 attempting a left turn into a driveway, and the Voge vehicle was westbound on the highway.

Hays said Voge struck the front duals of the truck's tandems on the right side of the truck.

Charges of failure to yield one-half the roadway have been filed against Berndt, Hays reported.

Crash Injuries Fatal to Terry L. Voge, 17
Terry L. Voge, 17, son of Mr. and Mrs. G.T. Voge of Manning, died at 6:30 a.m. Monday at the Jennie 3 Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs from injuries suffered in a traffic accident in Manning Friday morning. He is the third traffic fatality in Carroll County in 1972.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Church, Manning. The Rev. Norbert Weber, M.S.C., will officiate. Burial will be in the Manning Cemetery with the Ohde Funeral Home of Manning in charge of arrangements.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 1 p.m. Tuesday. The rosary will be recited there at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday; a Bible service will be held at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.
