Death of Infant.
November 25, 1909 Manning Monitor

The many friends of Mr. and Mrs. David L. and Pearl Swaney will be pained to learn of the death of their younger child, Tuesday, aged seven weeks and four days. The funeral was held this, Wednesday, afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. Heizer preaching the sermon. Mrs. Swaney's relatives from Scranton came to be present at the burial of the little one. The interment took place at the Manning Cemetery. The many friends of Mr. and Mrs. Swaney sympathize with them in their sad hour of trial.

Note: there are no tombstone records in the city cemetery for any Swaney names but the city records show "Swaney, infant of Roy. This must mean "Roy Swaney's, infant". Unfortunately there are no dates recorded in the city records to use as a comparison.

Another possibility is the infant was buried in Viola Center Cemetery, Viola Center, Iowa, where many members of the Swaney family are buried.
