The Manning community was saddened Thursday morning, April 21, 1932, when it learned of the death of Mrs. Martin Petersen. Mrs. Petersen and family came to the vicinity of Manning thirty years ago and have, during that time made a host of friends here, who regret the passing of this noble woman. Being of a quiet disposition, friendly and courteous, Mrs. Petersen enjoyed the admiration and esteem of those who had the pleasure of knowing her and gained her friendship. She was a kind and devoted mother, a loving wife and helpful neighbor and friend. She will be sadly missed in the family circle, because there is a chair that is vacant, and she will be sadly missed in the circle of friend's because a particular friend has departed from their midst.
