She died at the Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs, April 19, 1992, at age 56 years, 6 months, and 27 days. She was baptized into the Zion Lutheran Church in Manning, May 3, 1936, where she was also confirmed April 10, 1949. She graduated from the Manning High School in 1953 and upon graduation attended business school in Omaha, Nebraska.
April 21, 1956, she married Roger Schwieso at the Zion Lutheran Church in Manning. They were the parents of two children.
In July of 1976, they moved to Harlan, and this has been their home since that time. She was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church of Harlan and the Ladies Auxiliary of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post Number 941 also in Harlan. She had also served as the President of the local V.F.W. Auxiliary, and President of the 7th District V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband Roger of Harlan; one daughter, Sheri (Joseph) Marion of Tacoma, Washington; one son, Roger Jr. (Duane) (Trina) Schwieso of Woodward; her parents, Delbert and Odessa Vinke of Manning; two brothers, Clifford Vinke of Winslow, Maine; and Allen Vinke of Lee Summit, Missouri; one sister, Sandi Lisec of Wilber, Nebraska; 5 grandchildren; and other relatives.
Funeral services were held April 22, 1992, at Peace Lutheran Church in Harlan with Rev. Glenn Wiechmann, officiating. Burial was in the Harlan Cemetery with Russell Truax, Darrel Miller, Carl T. Johnson, Dowd J. Brandt, Ralph R. Johnson, Ronald P. Petersen, Robert H. Waterbury, and W.P. "Pa" Shannon, honorary casket-bearers. Active casketbearers were Daryl Genzen, Larry Genzen, Keith Schwieso, James L. Shelton, Larry Robertson, and Ronald Christensen. Pauley Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
