Selma Olson

Funeral services and celebration of her life was held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 1, 2008 at Strode Funeral Home Chapel for Selma Elaine (Wiese) Olson. Mr. Kent Houck and Mr. Matt Mills officiated with interment in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Selma, 86, died Monday, April 28, 2008, at her home in Stillwater.

A visitation was held from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at Strode Funeral Home.

She was born October 13, 1921, in Manning, Crawford County, Iowa, to William T. and Able Antonia (Kuhl) Wiese. She was the youngest of four children. Selma graduated from high school in Manning and later married Kenneth G. Olson on February 12, 1941, in Denison, Iowa.

After their marriage, the Olson's operated a dairy farm in Botna, Iowa, until

1956 when they moved to Black Forest, Colorado, to operate an egg ranch. They moved to Stillwater in 1961 to own and manage rental properties, which included Varsity Village Mobile Home Park.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth G. Olson of Stillwater, Oklahoma; four daughters, Judy Larsen and her husband, Matt, of Plano, Texas, Barbara Payne and her husband, Richard, of Edmond, Oklahoma, Jane Carter and her husband, Wendell Glen, of San Antonio, Texas, and Kaye Duncan and her husband, Dan, of Stillwater, Oklahoma; three grandsons, Robert H. Duncan and his wife, Mica, of

Edmond, Oklahoma David Duncan of Stillwater, Oklahoma, and Christopher Carter of San Antonio, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.
