Mrs. R.L. ROSS DEAD.
Mrs. R.L. Ross, of Defiance, died at her home in that city on Monday afternoon, at three o'clock. Mrs. Ross had attended the funeral of her father-in-law only two weeks previous, and at that time, caught a severe cold, which developed into pneumonia. The funeral was held on Wednesday afternoon, at two o'clock. Mrs. Ross, who was formerly Mrs. Lathrop, was one of the first residents of Manning, having come here when the town was first started. Mr. Lathrop died in 1883, and she then kept a boarding house for a number of years. She was married in 1885 to R.L. Ross, removing to Defiance about four years ago. Mrs. Ross was a sister of Mrs. Kenyon and Mrs. Ed Johnson, both of this city, and of A.H. Wilfong, of Botna. The relatives of the deceased were present at the funeral.
