Sandra Roecker
Funeral Services for Sandra Roecker of Carroll, Iowa, were held Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at Ohde Funeral Home in Manning. Pastor Mike Warrick officiated with Alyssa Warrick as vocalist. Casketbearers were Rick Rowedder, Mark Rowedder, Kirk Roecker, Terry Hunter, Jason Hacker, and Penny Lynn Leach. Interment was in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Manning.
A visitation was held Monday, May 12, 2008 from 5-8:00 p.m. at Ohde Funeral Home in Manning.
Sandra "Sandie" Marie, daughter of Donald and Joyce (Hunter) Roecker, was born July 21, 1948, at Fort Dodge, Iowa. She grew up in Denison and Carroll and graduated from Kuemper High School in Carroll. She then attended college in Sioux City, Iowa.
Sandie was a hard worker and held various jobs through the years. Her very first job was as a waitress at Pauline's Rest Stop in Carroll. Sandie began working at the Carroll Health Center in 2007. She loved both the residents and her co-workers there. Sandie enjoyed listening to country music and also had a great love of dancing, a trait she inherited from her mother and passed on to her own daughter. She enjoyed playing Bingo and was a sports fan, especially cheering for the Iowa Hawk-eyes, Iowa State Cyclones, Kansas City Chiefs, and NASCAR.
On Thursday, May 8, 2008, Sandie died suddenly and unexpectedly at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll, Iowa. She was 59 years, 9 months and 17 days old.
Sandie was preceded in death by her father Donald Roecker.
She is survived by daughter Kris and husband Michael Warrick of Omaha; granddaughter Alyssa Warrick; mother Joyce Roecker of Manning; extended family and many friends.
Ohde Funeral Home in Manning, Iowa was in charge of arrangements.
