SAMUEL LOUIS MANTZ

Samuel Mantz was born in Carbon County, Pennsylvania, on February 7, 1851, the son of Jonas and Hannah (Miller) Mantz. He married Harriett Eddy in Iowa about 1872. To this union were born eight children and in 1915 all were living. Harriett Eddy was born January 17, 1851.

Their children are as follows: Clarence Everett was born March 30, 1873, at this date unmarried and living with his parents at Audubon; Jessie Franklin was born June 27, 1875. He married Ella Fischer at Audubon. They had two children, a boy Victor, and a girl Greeta. They lived in Manning, Iowa, and he ran the Manning Monitor, a newspaper
