Ruth "Ruthie" Loving, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away on July 30, 2018, mere hours before celebrating her 95th birthday. Ruthie, the oldest of three sisters, was born July 31, 1923, in Graham, Missouri, to the parents of John Jahne, an orphan train rider, and Ora Crawford Jahne.

Following college, Ruthie moved to Washington, D.C., to support the war effort. There, she met Dewey Pfoltner, a service man from Manning, Iowa, whom she married on April 6, 1945. In 1949, Ruthie accepted an administrative assistance positon with the Bendix Corporation's Honeywell accounting department. In 1976, she took early retirement to care for her ailing husband who passed away in 1977.

On October 24, 1987, she married Don Loving, a friend she had known from earlier years. Together, they took many road trips and spent time on Don's sailboat in the Caribbean. A gourmet cook, Ruthie was featured in "Come into My Kitchen," in the 1969 edition of the Kansas City Star. Ruthie, an avid bridge player, played in several Master Bridge Clubs throughout the city. She also took belly dance lessons, entertaining family on many occasions and dancing at her 50th high school reunion in Maryville, Missouri.

Prior to her death, she resided a short time at Crown Care Health Care in Harrisonville, Missouri. Ruthie was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Selma and Deloris. She is survived by her step-son, Steven Loving, several nieces and nephews, one cousin, Gary Jahne, and many friends. A visitation will be held at 9:30 Saturday, August 4 with birthday cake and punch in honor of her 95th birthday, followed by a memorial service at 10:30.

Burial was in Johnson County Chapel and Memorial Gardens, Overland Park, Kansas.
