Ruby Mae Wuebker, 91, died, November 29, 2016, at the Rowley Masonic Home in Perry, Iowa, following a brief illness.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 3, 2016, at St. Patrick's Church, Perry, with interment at the Violet Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday, December 2, from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Carris Family Funeral Home in Perry. Family will be present to greet friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a Vigil service following. Fr. Chris Reising will officiate.

Surviving are six children, Patty (Rick) Delagardelle of Anamosa; Peggy (Larry) Jurgensmeyer of Celina, Texas; Penny (Bobby) Emmons, of Urbandale; John (Linda) and Jerome (Deb) of Perry; and Jim (Diane) of Grimes; thirteen grandchildren, Andrea (Jason) Ehlers, Kim (Josh) King, Travis Wuebker, Josh (Jamie) Wuebker, Brett Wuebker, Jeremy (Jolene) Wuebker, Justin (Amanda) Wuebker, Jennifer (Kurt) Harwell, Sarah (Trey) Simko, Jessica (Brett) Smith, Andy (Melissa) Wuebker, and Matt and Hannah Wuebker; nineteen great-grandchildren, Addison and Dawson Ehlers, Carson, Carter and Aiden King, Kaylee and Reed Wuebker, Clay, Kylie, and Colton Wuebker, Cameron Wuebker, Russell and Audrey Harwell, William Simko, Chase and Daisy Wuebker, and Connor, Ellie, and Evan Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Leo, two brothers and a sister.

Ruby Mae Anthony was born April 28, 1925, in Washington Township, Carroll County, at her home. She was the daughter of John and Clara (Joens) Anthony. She graduated from Westside High School in 1942 and attended AIB in Des Moines earning a business certificate. She worked in Omaha and Kansas City. She married Leo John Wuebker on October 10, 1949, in Manning, Iowa. He preceded her in death on February 11, 1989.

They owned Wuebker's Tap and a bowling alley in Manning (417 Main Street) when they first were married. In 1962, they moved to Perry, Iowa.

Over the years, Ruby worked as a secretary at Farmer's Hybrid, Wiese Corporation, and Perry Chamber of Commerce, salesperson, and was well-known as the "demo lady" at HyVee. Ruby was a member of the St. Patrick's Catholic Church, the St. Patrick's Regina Guild, the VFW, the business women's association, and volunteered throughout the community. In her early years, she loved to bowl, fish, and gamble.

She looked forward to visiting and spending time with family and friends and enjoyed eating out. You could always find her in the kitchen baking and had cookies and candy available for all of her grandchildren. She was a people person who loved to be with family and friends. She was not a stranger to anyone. Her smile and laughter would always fill the room. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a friend to those who knew her. She will be missed.
