Mrs. Rose Stuhr, of Carroll, age 98, died at the Carroll Health Center in Carroll on January 8, 2002. A daughter of Fritz and Anna (Wegner) Ehlers, she was born on December 29, 1903, at Botna, Iowa. She grew up on a farm in the Botna area where she attended rural schools. She was married to Art Stuhr on November 19, 1925, on a farm in Manning, Iowa. Rose and Art operated dairy farms in the Glidden and Carroll area. In 1955 they purchased a farm near Bayard. In 1960 Art passed away and Rose moved to Glidden for a couple of years and then to Carroll where she worked in the kitchen at the Carroll High School until her eyesight failed her. She made her home with her daughter and son-in-law Lois and Louis Broich until moving to the Carroll Health Center in November 1993. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Carroll and Honorary Member of the Presbyterian Women. In her spare time Rose enjoyed listening to the radio, dancing, and playing cards.
