Mass of Christian Burial for Rose Anne Nulle was held Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Manning, Iowa.
Reverend Robert Gralapp was Celebrant. Lector was Jim Muhlbauer. Mass Servers were Taylor Boyle and Ridge Muhlbauer. Eucharistic Minister was Mary Wendl. Gift Bearers and Honorary Casket Bearers were Jamie Blum, Christina Nulle, Shannon Lenaghan, Natalie Nulle and Andrea Nulle. Music was provided by the Sacred Heart Choir with Ann Muhlbauer as organist. Casket Bearers were Grant Nulle, Bryce Irlbeck, Jason Lenaghan, Jeff Blum, Rachel Nulle and Jeff Muhlbauer. Interment was in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Manning. A visitation, Rosary and Prayer Service was held at Ohde Funeral Home in Manning.
Rose Anne, daughter of Charles and Mary (Stoberl) Muhlbauer, was born January 8, 1933, at home northeast of Manning, Iowa. She attended school in Halbur and rural school, before graduating from Manning High School in 1950. Rose Anne worked as a dental assistant in Manning for Dr. Fenchel for several years.
On September 10, 1956, Rose Anne was united in marriage with Wesley Nulle at Sacred Heart in Manning.
Four children were born to this union. The couple rented a farm northwest of Botna for 7 years, then they made their home on the Nulle home farm southwest of Manning for nearly 40 years. The farm had been in the Nulle family since 1893. After their retirement from farming in 1994, the couple moved into Manning. Rose Anne and Wes enjoyed spending 17 winters in the far south of Texas. They also traveled over the years through most of the United States and several countries in Europe, including a visit to family in Germany.
Rose Anne enjoyed playing cards (especially Euker) and flower gardening. She participated in women’s league bowling and was a member of the Tri-County Social Club. Rose Anne was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, Manning Hospital Auxiliary, Sacred Heart Church and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas.
When Rose Anne’s health began to fail and her husband could no longer care for her at home, she entered the Manning Plaza Nursing Home in June of 2011. She died there on Friday, October 7, 2011, at the age of 78 years, 8 months and 29 days.
Preceding Rose Anne in death were her parents; son Duane in infancy; six brothers: Chas (Ann), Joe, Henry “Hank” (Ruby), Anthony “Tony” (Laura), Bill and Louis Muhlbauer; sister Sophia Kuhse (Wayne); and brother-in-law Vic Wendl.
She is survived by her husband Wesley Nulle of Manning; children Mark Nulle and wife LuAnn of Gillette, Wyoming, Theresa and husband Brian Irlbeck of Manning, and Lynn Nulle and wife Sonia of Manning; seven grandchildren: Grant Nulle and wife Christina, Shannon and husband Jason Lenaghan, Jamie Jo and husband Jeff Blum, Bryce Irlbeck, Rachel Nulle, Natalie Nulle and Andrea Nulle; great-granddaughter Annabelle Rose Blum; sister Marie Wendl of Carroll; sisters-in-law Iola Muhlbauer of Manning, Erna Odendahl (Louis) of Manning, and Phyllis Muhlbauer of Manilla; other relatives and friends.
