ROSA PUCK
Rosa Helena Louise Puck was born on Feb. 16, 1904, near Manning, Iowa, the daughter of Hannes and Helena (Wiese) Schmidt. She died May 20, 1982 at Bishop Clarkson Hospital, Omaha, Neb. at the age of 78.

Rosa was baptized as an infant and later confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She was raised near Manning, except or a brief time spent in South Dakota. Rosa received her formal education in the rural schools in Carroll County.

On Jan. 13, 1926, Rosa was united in marriage to Albert Puck in Manning. Together they farmed in Carroll County until 1958 when they moved to Denison. Mr. Puck died 1981. For the past several years, Rosa has been in failing health.

Rosa was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. She as also member of the World War I Veterans Auxiliary and the V.F.W. Auxiliary. She is also a past president of the Denison Senior Citizens.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Rosa was preceded in death by three brothers, Henry, Hannes, and William and one grandson.

Survivors include, her children, Viola t Mrs. Leslie) Boger of Denison, Alice (Mrs. Joseph H.) Stevens of Audubon. Donald of Omaha, Neb., Lewis of Denison, Delores of Council Bluffs and Shirley of Denison. Also surviving are six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, two brothers, Emil Schmidt of Westside, and Chris Schmidt of Manning and one sister, Helen (Mrs. Ed) Grimm of Manning.

Funeral services were held May 24, at 2:00 p.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church in Denison. Burial was in Crawford Heights Memory Gardens. The Rev. Jack Heck officiated at the services.

Pallbearers were Harold Schmidt, Mike Malone, Garry Puck. Ben Puck, Larry Schmidt and Vernon Kohnenkamp.

Funeral arrangements were made under the direction of the Huebner Funeral Home of Denison.
