Born September 25, 1941, in Carroll to Merlin and Ruby Warnke, Ron grew up and lived most of his work life in Iowa and has devoted much of his time to the trucking business. While in high school, Ron enjoyed hanging around the livestock sale barn in Carroll because he could move the trucks around the yard and back them up to the loading chutes.

In 1958, Ron met Joyce Ann Sonksen (daughter of Herman & Gladys Sonksen) at the County Fair in Coon Rapids and they married in 1961. Ron & Joyce lived in Manning for a time where they drove trucks. He spent several years driving trucks and then had back surgery in 1976, at which point he worked briefly as a mechanic, then a buyer, dispatcher and broker for United Fruit and Produce in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he later became president of the company.

In 1991, he moved to Lake View and started his own business, R&J Trucking in 1996. He has built a strong company, which will continue to operate in his name and memory.

Ron is survived by his wife of 51 years, Joyce Warnke; daughters, Linda and her husband Dale Brown of Buffalo, Missouri, Lisa and her husband Quint Fuller of Claremore, Oklahoma, and Lori and her husband Gary Smith of Bixby, Oklahoma; sons Tracy and his wife Rebekah Warnke of Hominy, Oklahoma, and Shaun Warnke of Lake View; grandchildren, Mya Lee, Justin Moore, Cassandra Moore, Gary Don Smith, Dylan Warnke, Logan Warnke, Harley Warnke, Havyn Warnke, Hero Warnke and Kamorian Warnke; great-grandchildren, Austin Black, Ryan and Peyton Campbell, Sidney and Addison Moore; extended family members; and a host of friends.

Ron's parents preceded him in death as did his sister Rhonda Ruby and son Lance Ronald.
