Rita Caroline (Bayer) Moeller-Williamson died October 19, 2019, in Sylvania, Ohio, at the age of 97. The daughter of Joseph and Anna (Zitzelsperger) Bayer was born August 23, 1922, on the farm near Willey, Iowa, where she was raised.
Rita was united in marriage to Harold A. Moeller on October 23, 1946, in Manning, Iowa. They had two sons (Dale and Dean) and they farmed until Harold's death in 1969.
Rita returned to her education earning a High School Equivalency in 1970 and a certification as a Licensed Practical Nurse in 1972. She had a full and productive career as a nurse in Denison, Iowa, for many years.
Later in life, Rita married Glenn G. Williamson of Humeston, Iowa, on October 19, 1990.
In February of 2019, Rita moved to an assisted living facility in Sylvania, Ohio, to be close to her surviving son Dean. There she suffered a fall that resulted in a broken hip leading to her passing.
Preceding Rita in death were her parents and siblings; husband Harold 1969; husband Glenn 1991; son Dale Moeller 2017.
Rita is survived by her son Dean and Diana Moeller and their sons Kyle, Brandon, and Ryan; daughter-in-law Sandy (Dale) Moeller and their daughters Teri, Robin, and Shelly and seven great-grandchildren.
Interment will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Manning, Iowa, at a later date.
On May 23, 2020, the family held the inurnment service at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Manning.
Father Paul Nguyen conducted the memorial.
Members of the Dean Moeller family were present for the ceremony, along with several cousins, friends, and classmates of Dale & Dean from the Manning area.
A small luncheon was held outside at the city park after the services.
Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, the shelter house was not available and safe distancing was practiced as much as possible during the service.
