After a long illness, Reinhold Streib, one of Clinton's most respected citizens, died about 4 o'clock Friday afternoon July 19, 1901, at his home on Ninth Avenue. Mr. Streib has been a resident of this city since 1861, and has been an employee of the Northwestern for 28 years.
Born in Waibstadt, Germany, July 21, 1840, he left his fatherland in 1853 and settled in America. In 1863 he married Miss Veronica Cosman. Mr. Streib is survived by his wife and seven children, Mrs. Anna Kraus, Clinton; Mrs. George M. Signall, Manning, Mrs. W.H. Carrod, Clinton; Miss Josephine Streib and Frank Streib, John W. and William of this city. He had a sister, Mrs. A. Dietz of Chicago.
The funeral services were held at the German Catholic Church, Monday morning.

In the year one thousand eight hundred and thirty eight on the twenty first of
July in the evening at five o'clock (Johann Reinhold Streib)
was born here and was baptized on the twenty second of July in the evening at
five o'clock in the local parish church: Johann Reinhold, legitimate son of the
local citizen Christof Streib and of Margarethe Zitt. Godfather is Reinhold Zeizs,
unmarried son of Felix Zeizs. Witnesses were Felix Zeizs who is mentioned above and Johannes
Zitt, both local citizens. The baptism was performed and
the entry made by Joseph Schmidt, manager of the parish Waibstadt July 22, 1838.
