REGILDA SOPHIE MARGARET STRIBE
On February 21, 1931 Regilda was united in marriage with Herbert "Bert" Stribe. Three children, Dean, Lon, and Lowell, were born to this union. They farmed near Manning until 1952 when they retired and moved into Manning.
Regilda continued to live in her own home after her husband died in 1980. In December of 1991 she moved to the Manning Plaza Nursing Home where she enjoyed relatively good health until last Wednesday when she was hospitalized at Manning General Hospital. She died there on Sunday afternoon, October 15, 1995 at the age of 86 years and 1 month.
Besides her husband, Regilda was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Dean and Lon; a sister, Henrietta Hagge; and a great-grandson, Austin Bailey.
Survivors include her son, Lowell Stribe and his wife, Lois, of Manning; her daughter-in-law, Marjorie Stribe, of Manning; five grandchildren: Curtis Stribe and his wife, Caryl, of Manning; Keith Stribe and his wife, Mary Jane, of Carroll; Allen Stribe and his wife, Carlys, of Manning; Sue Ann and her husband, Allyn Strecker, of Des Moines; and Lisa and her husband, Larry Bailey, of Des Moines; 11 great-grandchildren: Nolan, Sara, and Landon Stribe; Kelsie, Heather, and Kyle Stribe; Jennifer and Scott Stribe; Steven Strecker; and Alayna and Andrea Bailey; two step-great grandchildren, Michael and Michelle Bailey; a sister, Ruby Hunter, of Westside; brothers: Harry Stoffers and his wife, Adele, of Apache Junction, Arizona; Elmer Stoffers and his wife, Louise, of Carroll; and Henry Stoffers and his wife, Blondina, of Arcadia; many other relatives and friends.
Regilda was member of the First Presbyterian Church in Manning and of the Presbyterian Women, the American Legion Auxiliary where she served as president, Garden Club, Busy Thimbles, and Homemakers Club. Regilda enjoyed quilting and other hand work which she shared with family and friends.
