Raymond Schade
Funeral services for Raymond Johnnes Karl Schade were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 5, 1993, at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll with the Reverend Lanny Tuttle of the First United Methodist Church officiating with Ellen Severin as organist and Skip Raridon as soloist. Interment was held in the Carroll City Cemetery with Jim Moore, Dick Moore, Jim Rath, Joel David, Dale Berns, and Bill Kramer as casketbearers.
Raymond Johnnes Karl Schade, 89, of Audubon, Iowa, and formerly of Carroll and Glidden areas, died at the Mercy Hospital in Des Moines on January 2, 1993, following a lingering illness. He has lived the last 5 years at the Friendship Home in Audubon. Prior to that he lived in Carroll since 1973 when the Schades retired from the farm where they had farmed north of Glidden for 40 years.
Raymond was born June 25, 1903, at Manning, Iowa, and was the son of John and Emma (Wenzel) Schade. As a young man he attended rural schools in Audubon County. He was baptized on July 19, 1903, at Zion Lutheran Church in Manning, Iowa, and was confirmed on June 1, 1919, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Audubon County, Iowa.
He was married to Phyllis Wohlenberg on July 5, 1930, at Sidney, Iowa. Raymond was affiliated with the First United Methodist Church of Carroll.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters: Leona Starck and Beata David; and an infant brother, John Karl Schade.
Raymond is survived by his wife, Phyllis, of Carroll; sisters: Laura Rudnick of Audubon, Viola Reuwsaat of Audubon, and Wilma Ullerich and her husband,
Herbert, of Manning; a brother, Merle Schade and his wife, Donna, of Arizona; two sisters-in-law, Lois Wohlenberg and Dorothy Wohlenberg, both of Carroll;
two brothers-in-law: Fred Starck of Woodstock, Illinois and Clarence David of Audubon.
