Ranald Detlef Scheldorf, 66, of Manning died Wednesday night, January 26, 1972, at University Hospitals, Iowa City, after being in failing health for several years.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Ohde Funeral Home in Manning. The Rev. Don Griffin, minister of the United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Westside Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Donald Zubrod, Gerald Schulte, Orval R. Fink, Ervin Bauer, LeRoy Schumann, and Richard Crandall.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. and the family will meet friends between 7 and 8 p.m. Friday.
Mr. Schelldorf, son of John D. and Emma (Ohde) Scheldorf, was born at Westside March 17, 1905. He graduated from Westside High School and from Iowa State College, Ames, with a B.S. degree in electrical engineering. He was an engineer for the RCA Victor Company until his retirement in 1965. He then came to Manning to live with his sister and brother, Emily and Rufert Schelldorf.
Surviving are the following sisters and brothers: Marvel Scheldorf, Marsailles, Illinois, Mrs. Viola Shouse, Omaha; Rufert Scheldorf, Manning; Wilbur Scheldorf, Channel View, Texas; Mrs. Leo (Ellen) Gilbert, Portland, Oregon; Mrs. Richard (Anna) Underwood, East Hampton, Massachusetts; Owen Scheldorf, Louisville, Kentucky; and Emily Schelldorf, Manning.
