Ralph W. Stuedeman

Ralph Wayne Stuedeman, age 91 of Flandreau, South Dakota, died Friday, March 16, 2012, at Riverview Manor, Flandreau.

Ralph was born May 28, 1920, at Manning, Iowa, to Dick and Hazel (Moerke) Stuedeman. They moved to a farm northeast of Flandreau when he was about four years old. He attended Fletcher School, Littig School, and graduated from Flandreau High School in 1938. Ralph married Louise Keating at Flandreau on June 15, 1946. They farmed southeast of Flandreau for many years. Ralph was a member of the United Methodist Church, sang in the Methodist Men's Choir, was a 4-H leader and a member of the Farm Bureau.

Ralph is survived by his wife: Louise; three daughters: Joan (Ruben) Archuleta, Pueblo West, Colorado; Linda (Earl) Olson, Luverne, Minnesota; and Janet Myers, Flandreau; four grandchildren: Michelle (James) Strmiska, Sheryl (Dennis) Page, Marie (Harley) Gifford and Matthew Myers; six great-grandchildren: Sadie, William, Sophia, Anna, Elena and Hank and two brothers-in-law: Randell Keating, Flandreau and Harvey Keating, Salt Lake City, Utah.

Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, infant sister Bernice, son-in-law Larry, two sisters-in-law, Mary and Doris Keating and his aunt, Lola Moerke.

Funeral service was held March 19 at the United Methodist Church, Flandreau, with burial in Union Cemetery.
