Phillip Richmond
Phillip Lee Richmond, 38, of Omaha, formerly of Sioux City, passed away Tuesday, April 6, 2009, at his residence.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Glad Tidings Lighthouse in South Sioux City, with the Rev. Michael Ring officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.
Phillip was born September 3, 1970, in South Sioux City, to Daniel and Karla (Kusel) Richmond. He graduated from Denison Community High School in 1989, then attended Auction School in Kansas City. He worked as a ring man for the Omaha Auto Action and had been since being involved in the wholesale auto business.
He married Patricia Remmes on November 29, 1991, in Denison.
He loved cars and was an avid snowmobiler. He also liked to listen to country music.
Survivors include his parents, Daniel Richmond of Omaha and Karla Richmond of Colorado; his wife, Patti Richmond of Papillion, Nebraska; a son, Luke Richmond of Papillion; a half brother, Rick Kusel of Colorado; two half sisters, Dawn Misar of Hartford, South Dakota, and Lisa Kirby of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; an aunt, Connie Ellefson of Storm Lake, Iowa; an uncle, LeRoy Graham of Zion, Illinois; and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Graydon and Sarah Graham; and an uncle, Terry Graham.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in his name for his son, Luke.

Phillip attended Manning Elementary school in the 4th and 5th grades. Phillip's grandparents are Marge (Kuhn) Kusel and Marge's late husband Melvin Kusel (parents of Alan and Karla). Phillip's uncle was the late Alan Kusel.
