Peter Christian Sievertsen died at the home of his son, Alfred, March 11, 1930, 4 1/2 miles south of Denison. He was 72 years 4 days. He suffered from rheumatism for 30 years and confined to the wheel chair the last 8 years.

Mr. Sievertsen was born March 8, 1858, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. He came to America when he was 17 years old coming directly to Iowa. On March 7, 1886, he was married to Sophia Magdalena Jensen at Manilla. They lived there for 3 years, later living at Manning, Dedham, Milford, and St. James, Minnesota. Fifteen years ago he returned to Crawford County from St. James and has since made his home in this community.

Parents of 9 children, with one daughter who died in infancy; one son, Hans, of Racine, Minnesota died January 16, 1929, and the youngest son, Willie, died October 23, 1923. Mrs. Sievertsen preceded her husband in death 11 years ago in 1919.

Children who survive are Mrs. Anna Lengemann of Coon Rapids, Henry, Knoxville, Fred, and Emil of Grand Meadow, Alfred and John of Denison; Also one sister, Mrs. William Goetchelt of Manning and 8 grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted Friday by Rev. J. Franklin Bengaman of the Methodist Church of Denison. Burial at Manning.
