Peter Paulsen Is Laid To Rest
Local relatives received the sad news that Peter Paulsen of Glidden had passed away Saturday morning, September 7th at his home after a lingering illness.
Mr. Paulsen was taken ill about six years ago. He spent three months in the University hospital at Iowa City, after his first attack. He returned to his home but has been bedfast since that time. Everything possible was done to restore his former health but to no avail. He was a patient sufferer and very seldom complained.
Mr. Paulsen was born in O'Brien County, Iowa, December 1st, 1891, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Paulsen. When but a child he moved with his parents to Ha?? May, Mo., later to Maryville and in 1807, back to Iowa to take up residence in Lincoln Twp., Audubon County, Iowa.
December 17, 1913, he was married to Miss Cora Wever, moving to Westside, where they made their home for two years. The they came back to Lincoln Township, Audubon County on the farm where they lived until 1939, when they moved to Glidden, Iowa, November.
Besides his bereaved wife, Mr. Paulsen is survived by two children, LeRoy and Dorothy; by brother Henry Paulsen of Lincoln township, Audubon County, and the following sisters: Mary, Mrs. Leonard Jorden of Audubon; Emma, Mrs. Otto Borkowski of Manning; Katie. Mrs. Wm. Musfeldt, of Lincoln township, Audubon County; Alvin, Mrs. Frank Stammer of Manning; and Anna, Mrs. Wm. Welding of Holstein, Iowa, He was preceded in death his parents, his father passed away on March 26, 1915, and mother on August 16, 1921.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. Glidden, the Rev. F.H. Rudi Heisting. Burial was made at Manning Cemetery.
