OTTO PAYSEN

Funeral services for Otto Paysen, 91, of the Manning Plaza, Manning, were held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Ohde Funeral Home, Manning, with Rev. Joel Wright, pastor of the Manning Presbyterian Church, officiating. Organist was Rev. Carl Sinning.

A Masonic Memorial Service was held at 8 p.m. Wednesday by the Manual Lodge No. 950, A.F. and A.M., Manning, at the Ohde Funeral Home, Manning.

Pallbearers were Carl Schrum, Elroy Schrum, James Madigan, Frank McLaughlin, Russell McLaughlin, and Verne Tiefenthaler. Burial was in the Manning Cemetery under the direction of the Ohde Funeral Home, Manning.

Mr. Paysen, son of Tom and Catherine (Dreessen) Paysen, was born on June 30, 1886, at Arcadia. He attended schools in Manning and graduated from Manning High School in 1903. His marriage to Hannah Schrum took place on March 16, 1910, at the home of her parents in Lincoln Township, Audubon County, Iowa. He worked for the Rober - Wehrmann Co. in Manning until moving to Rick Springs, Wyoming, in 1930 and was employed as a bookkeeper at a lumber company. Later they moved to Green River, Wyoming, and returned to Manning in 1971. They have been residents of the Manning Plaza for the past several years. He was a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge.

Surviving are his wife, Hannah; two daughters, Mrs. JoAnn Madigan of Regal Park, New York; and Mrs. Jeannette Brooks of Phoenix, Arizona; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three sisters; Mrs. Martha Droege and Mrs. Matilda Evers, both of Green River, Wyoming, and Mrs. Emma Dietz of Manning.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, William, Albert, and Edwin, and two sisters, Louise and Clara.

Mr. Paysen died early Tuesday morning, October 24, 1977, at the Manning Plaza.
