Mr. Passick, who was born in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, October 18, 1859, came to the United States in 1885. He settled at Clinton, where he married Sophia Schmahl, July 25, 1886. She preceded him in death December 4, 1918.
For the past 29 years Mr. Passick has made his home in Manning, having spent two years in Crawford County after leaving Clinton. He is the father of eight children, seven of whom survive him. The eighth, Fred Passick, died in France August 2, 1918, during the World War.
Surviving are Mrs. John Peterson of Mt. Auburn; Detlef Passick of Polk City; Mrs. Charles Schumann of Manning; Henry Passick of Polk City; August Passick of Manning; Mrs. Otto Hagedorn of Manning; and Mrs. Henry Arp of Manning. One brother, Fred Passick, lives in Clinton.
Mr. Passick was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church and was a member of the German Society of Clinton. He was also a member of the Three-Quarter Century Club.
