ORREN E. SCHROEDER
Funeral services for Orren E. Schroeder were held Saturday, September 19, 1981 at Zion Lutheran Church in Manning at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Edward F. Heinicke officiating.
Organist was Dorothy Kusel and Larry Genzen was soloist.
Interment was in Manning Cemetery with Raymond Irlbeck, M.E. Grundmeier, Elmer Langel, Milton Sinow, Roland Meeves and Ron Schilling as casketbearers.
Ohde Funeral Home in Manning was in charge of arrangements.
Orren, son of Hermuth and Hilda Sievertsen Schroeder, was born on January 5, 1917, in Iowa Township, Crawford County, Iowa. He was baptized on August 19, 1917, at Aspinwall and confirmed in the Lutheran faith on December 26, 1950, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Manilla.
He attended Aspinwall and Manning Schools, graduating from the Manning High School in 1935.
He was united in marriage with Geraldine Lamaack on July 2, 1942, in Auburn, Nebraska.
Orren was a lifelong farmer. He was active in Aspinwall Community affairs and served on the Aspinwall School Board.
He passed away suddenly at his farm home just north of Aspinwall on September 17, 1981, at the age of 64, years, 8 months, and 12 days.
Orren was preceded in death by his parents and by his wife Geraldine two years ago on August 13, 1979.
Orren and Geraldine were also preceded in death by a daughter, Karen, in 1950.
He is survived by: a brother, Harold, of Manning, a sister, Elaine, Mrs. Alvan Hansen, of Manning, a brother-in-law, Harry Lamaack, of Botna, three sisters-in-law, Mrs. Anna Saunders, of San Leandro, Calif., Mrs. Edna Meggers of Aspinwall, and Mrs. Norma Lamaack, Manning; as well as by nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
Orren was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Manning.
