Norlin Andrew Nielsen was born May 31, 1939, at home in Manning, Iowa, to Axel and Vera Nielsen. He passed from this life Tuesday, January 28, 2014, at the age of 74 years.

Norlin went to country school through the eighth grade. He graduated in 1958 at Irwin High School. His siblings were Darlene, Dennis, and Nadine. Norlin worked the family farm and in 1961 married Juanita Lueck. To this union two daughters were born, Shelly in 1963 and Marla in 1967.

In 1965, the family moved to Basehor, Kansas, where he worked for a dairy farm until 1969. Norlin relocated his family to Chariton, Iowa, where he went to work for McNay Iowa State Research Farm.

Norlin accepted Jesus at the age of twelve, this was an extremely important part of his life. He has been a member of the First Baptist Church located in Chariton.

Second most important priority in his life was being blessed with his family.

Norlin was preceded in death by his parents, Axel and Vera Nielsen; his siblings, Darlene Pauley and Dennis Nielsen; his niece, Tanya Mortensen; and his nephew, Kevin Nielsen.

He is survived by his wife, Juanita; his daughters, Shelly (Larry) Maddox and Marla (Duane) Jeppesen; his grandchildren, Heather Maddox, Derrick Jeppesen, Ryan Jeppesen, Allison Maddox, and Michelle Maddox Watts and Kyle Watts; nieces and nephews, Rachelle (Nicely), Karen (Mades) Jager, Lynette Lewis, Eric and Dan Mortensen, and Becky (Bastian) Nielsen; many friends and family.
