NORA GRETCHEN MUSFELDT
Funeral services were held this morning at 10 a.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church in Manning for Nora Gretchen Musfeldt, 89, of Manning, who died on Saturday, March 19, 1988, at the Stewart Memorial Community Hospital in Lake City.

Officiating was the Rev. Robert Riggert, with burial in the Manning City Cemetery, under the direction of the Ohde Funeral Home.

Casket bearers were Kenneth Brady, Orrin Bruhn, Richard Musfeldt, Jerry Sampers, Ken Jensen and Roy Struve.

Honorary casket bearers were Craig Brady, Jim Jentzen, Merle Musfeldt, and Myron Musfeldt.

Mrs. Musfeldt was born on March 21, 1898, in Maquoketa, the daughter of Anton F. and Anna (Jebsen) Jensen.

As a girl she moved with her family to Woodbury County where she attended school. Later the family moved to a farm south of Manning.

On October 15, 1919, she married Frank Ferdinand Musfeldt at Manning.

They farmed southwest of Manning until he retired, and they moved to town.

Her husband died in 1966, and she continued to live in their home until she moved to Terrace Apartments. In early 1986, she became a resident at the Shady Oaks Nursing Home in Lake City.

She was a lifelong member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Manning and the Ladies Aid Society.

Mrs. Musfeldt is survived by her children: Melvin and his wife, Melba, of Phoenix, Arizona; Helen and her husband, Glenn Brady of Carroll; George Musfeldt and his wife, Gladys, of Irwin, and Norma Jentzen of Carroll; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Eunice Jensen of Manning.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; a son-in-law, Alvin Jentzen; two great -grandchildren, Sara Jane Sampers and Lindsay Ranee Sampers; and the following brothers and sisters: Fred Jensen, Minnie Struve, Hulda Grundmeier, Albert Jensen, Esther Popp, Gus Jensen, Gladys Slates and Verna Atkins.
