Funeral To Be Wednesday For Manning Man Nicholas Rostermundt
Succumbs After Illness Of One Week
Funeral services for Nicholas Andreas Rostermundt, 86, a Manning resident for the past 49 years, who died Sunday afternoon, December 1, 1935; will be held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the Ohde Funeral home.

Rev. E.J. Hough of the Presbyterian Church will be in charge. Music will be furnished by the quartet composed of Miss Helen McGrath, Mrs. Emma Dietz, Herman Pahde, and Clifford Johnson. Mrs. Bonita Wood will be the accompanist.

The pallbearers will be John Frahm, Harry Hoffmann, Harry Reinholdt, Walter Laurinat, John Lewis, and John Junge.

Born in Germany
Mr. Rostermundt, who was born on June 17, 1849, at Roesshusen, Holstein, Germany, the son of Peter and Margarette Rostermundt, came to the United States in the year 1870. He was then 21 years of age. He began work as a farmer near Davenport, Iowa. In the year 1875, he moved to Westside, Iowa.

He was united in marriage to Miss Johanna H. Claussen on October 29, 1880. They were the parents of 10 children, eight of whom died in infancy. In 1921, a son, John, was killed in a gasoline explosion.

Sick One Week
Mr. Rostermundt did not become seriously ill until a week ago Sunday.

He is survived by his wife, and son, Harry, a sister in Germany, six grandchildren, and two daughter-in-laws, Mrs. Harry and Mrs. John Rostermundt.

Mr. and Mrs. Rostermundt celebrated their 55 wedding anniversary on October 29.
